How Long Salmon Sealed

Public Diplomacy Is Obama effect as scientific fact?

World Public Opinion echoes recent study by the BBC on countries' external image. Emphasizes improving the U.S. image, noting that according to the results of the BBC series that has developed since 2005 is the first time that there will be an emporer of it. One of the conclusions of the study is that this improvement has been at the expense of lower elsewhere. The study has been performed GlobeSacan / PIPA commissioned by the BBC.

Germany remains the champion (59% of respondents had a positive image of the country and 14% negative, 45% balance), followed by Japan (32% as balance, 53% positive), United Kingdom (32% as balance, 53% positive) and Canada (37% as balance, 51% positive) all above 50% in terms of positive feedback. Asked by the EU as a whole reach figures of 35%, 53% positive ones. All data are in balance we call positive feedback after subtracting the negative.

The focus of the study is the variation U.S. image abroad in the world . This reveals an improvement in perceptions of U.S. and particularly in a country like Spain where it has fallen from 56% with a negative view of the previous study 33% of negative opinions on this, compared to 40% significantly positive. Something similar has happened in France, Canada and Chile. On the other hand the only countries where the U.S. image has lost whole are Turkey and India.
The results seem to confirm that after a year of Obama administration, the existence of the effect is real Obama , effect to which we alluded to in depth in our publication: The Obama effect and U.S. Public Diplomacy: Bush to Obama
